Newcastle Emlyn is a lively market town on the River Teifi with cafes, restaurants and pubs plus a variety of gift, craft and
antique shops.

The ruins of the town's ancient castle lie on
a picturesque site on the banks of the Teifi. The castle, built of stone by the Welsh in 1240, allows spectacular views of the river below, which flanks the ruins on three sides. There are several riverside footpaths.
